It was a peaceful day in the Pridelands.
Simba was spending time with his great-grandmother, Shari at the Water Hole.
"Granny, why don't you like hunting?" Simba asked.
"Because it's time consuming" Shari answered.
She leaned over to nuzzle Simba's cheek.
"What does that mean?" Simba asked.
"It means it takes a lot of time and effort" Shari explained patiently.
Her expression softened as Simba pressed himself closer to her.
"Where's your mother?" She asked.
"She's with Yeh-Yeh and Grandma" Simba answered.
"Would you like to hear a story?" She asked.
"Tell me about the Ndona Pride" Simba said.
"The Ndona pride roamed before Grandfather and I began our reign, they're responsible for our knowledge of fighting and hunting. Our pride is descended from them, and due to my relation to the founder, you, your grandfather, and your father are too."Shari said.
She bent her head and nuzzled Simba's cheek.
"Let's go find your mother" Shari said.
She stood up and led Simba to Pride Rock.
When they reached Pride Rock, Simba ran to greet his mother.
He rubbed his muzzle against Sarabi's foreleg.
"Hi Mom" Simba said.
Sarabi's expression softened.
She exchanged a fond glance with Uru.
"Did you have a good time with Granny?" Uru asked.
"Yes, Grandma" Simba said.
He padded over and settled beside Uru.
"Where's Yeh-Yeh?" He asked.
"Yeh-Yeh went with your father on a patrol. They'll be back soon." Uru said.
"Your father said he'll take you on a patrol tomorrow" Sarabi added.
"Okay" Simba said.
Shari padded over and settled beside Sarabi.
"How'd the hunt go?" She asked.
"It went fine, Shari" Uru said.
