It was a peaceful day in the Serengeti.
Kion was spending time with Simba at Pride Rock.
They were resting outside the den.
"Dad, I want to know about the battle" Kion said.
"Which battle?" Simba asked.
"The one that happened on Pride Rock" Kion said.
"I've told you that story before" Simba said.
"I know, I want to hear it again" Kion said.
"Okay, I'll tell you" Simba said.
Kion pressed himself closer to Simba.
Simba nuzzled his cheek and began the story.
When Simba finished, Kion gazed up at him.
"Why did Scar hit Nai Nai?" He asked.
"He was angry, Nai Nai didn't deserve that treatment" Simba explained.
"I'm glad you're the king" Kion said.
Simba bent his head and touched his muzzle to Kion's cheek.
"Thank you, Kion" he said.
"What's wrong?" Simba asked.
"I haven't spend much time with you or Mom lately" Kion admitted.
Instantly, Simba's expression softened.
"Would you like to go hunting with us later?" He asked.
"Sure" Kion said.
Meanwhile, Nala had met up with Nita and Marigold in their cave.
They were settled down amongst the moss.
"I'm glad we're your grandnieces, Nana" Nita said.
Nala bent her head and nuzzled Nita's cheek.
"I'm glad too" Nala said warmly.
She gazed down at Marigold.
"I love you, Nana" Mari said sleepily.
Nala and Nita exchanged a glance.
"I love both of you" Nala answered.
"Where's Papa?" Nita asked.
"He's spending time with Kion" Nala said.
Mari glanced up.
"Where are they?" She asked.
"They're outside our den" Nala said.
She and Nita exchanged an amused glance.
Meanwhile. Sarafina and Sarabi had met up in Hapuna Valley to spend time together.
"Aren't you proud of Kion?" Sarabi asked.
"He's a remarkable cub" she said.
"What's wrong?" Sarafina asked gently.
"I wish Mufasa was here" Sarabi said.
Sarafina's expression softened with sympathy.
"He's always here, Sarabi." She said.
"I miss him so much" Sarabi answered.
"I know" Sarafina said comfortingly.
She leaned over and nuzzled Sarabi's cheek.
