It was a beautiful evening in the Pridelands.
Kovu and Kiara were spending quality time together in the meadow.
They were curled up together in a patch of moss.
Kiara pressed her muzzle to Kovu's.
"I love you" she said.
Kovu licked her cheek.
"I love you" he said.
Kiara curled up and pressed her body against Kovu's.
Kovu rasped his tongue over her ears affectionally.
"Kovu, did you know that Grandpa Mufasa told Rafiki to bring us together?" Kiara asked.
Kovu shook his head, "I didn't know that" he said.
"Belee told me that she, Kia, and Nita got to speak to Mufasa while they were visiting Rafiki" Kiara said.
"That's good" Kovu said.
Kovu brushed his tail along Kiara's flank.
"I know that You'll always take care of me and our children" Kiara said.
"Until the end of the Pridelands my love" Kovu said.
Kiara gazed into his eyes and basked in his affection.
"I'm glad Belee inherited your eyes" she said.
"I'm glad Denahi inherited your eyes" Kovu replied.
"I wish I could have met Mufasa" Kiara said.
"Simba tells me he was a wonderful ruler" Kovu said.
"Daddy says that he's always with us, he lives in us" Kiara said.
"I'm glad Belee gets to know him, even if she can't meet him, she knows his love" Kovu said.
"I know his love too, he was at my presentation" Kiara said.
"And he was at Kion's presentation" Kovu added.
"Kovu I have a idea" Kiara said suddenly.
Kovu glanced at her intrigued.
"What's the idea darling?" He asked.
"Come with me and I'll tell you" Kiara answered.
She led Kovu towards Rafiki's tree.
"Rafiki it's Kiara" she called up.
"Ahh Kiara... I was hoping for a visit from your beautiful daughter today" Rafiki said.
"She's spending time with my parents, I actully wanted to talk to Mufasa and i wanted to let Kovu meet him" Kiara explained.
"Hmm.. Well that can be arranged, come in sweetheart" Rafiki said.
Kovu and Kiara followed him inside his tree.
Kiara gazed around and basked in the familiarity of Rafiki's home,
When she was a cub she always enjoyed spending hours talking with Rafiki in his home.
Her favorite of the images Rafiki had painted on the trunk was the image of her father.
"So Kiara.. You want to talk to Mufasa?" Rafiki asked.
"That can easily be arranged" Rafiki said.
He shook his staff and murmured a familiar phase in Swahili.
Just then Kiara heard a familiar voice in the sky.
"Ahh My Darling Kiara, I've been waiting for you to talk to me" Mufasa said.
Kiara flicked her tail to summon Kovu.
"Grandpa.. I think you know who this is" she said.
"Yes.. Your mate Kovu.. Belee and Denahi's father" Mufasa said.
Kovu bowed his head respectfully.
"It's a honor to meet you Mufasa" he said.
"Grandpa.. Why did you make Rafiki bring us together?" Kiara asked.
"I did it for three reasons" Mufasa said.
"What we're the reasons?" Kiara asked.
"I needed you to unite the prides, confess your obvious love.. and show Simba what We. Are. One. Meant" Mufasa said.
Kiara smiled warmly at Kovu.
"Thank you Grandpa" Kiara said
"Always remember Kiara.. My love will always be there to guide you.. Even if I'm not there in body" Mufasa said.
"I love you Grandpa" Kiara said.
"I'm afraid I must leave you Kiara" Mufasa said.
"Bye Grandpa" Kiara said.
Mufasa's spirit embraced her warmly before disappearing.
"Thank you Rafiki" Kiara said.
"You're welcome Kiara" Rafiki said.
"We'll tell Belee that you want her to visit" Kovu said.
Rafiki embraced them both and they began the walk back to Pride Rock.
Kiara pressed her body against Kovu's affectionally.
"I love you Kovu" she said.
Kovu stroked his tail along Kiara's spine affectionally.
"I love you Kiara" he said.
Kiara purred and pressed her muzzle to his cheek.
"Belee seems to enjoy visiting Rafiki" Kovu said.
Kiara nodded in agreement.
"When I was her age I was constantly visiting Rafiki, it was the only place Daddy didn't make Timon and Pumbaa follow me to" Kiara said.
Kovu chuckled and twined his tail with hers.
"Simba did that because he loved you and he didn't want you to be abducted like Kopa" he said.
"I'm glad Belee and Denahi get to grow up in a safe, loving environment" Kiara said.
"I'm happy they get to grow up better then I did, with a mother that loves them, a father that protects them, a babysitter that adores them and that's purely related to them, and playmates" Kovu said.
Kiara shuddered as she realized the impact Kovu's words held.
She gently nudged her head under Kovu's chin.
Kovu pressed his muzzle to hers.
"You don't know how much I love you and how much I need you" Kiara said.
"Darling I'll always love you and protect you" Kovu said.
"I know, you give me love and comfort when I need it" Kiara said.
"I'll be there always" Kovu said.
"Kovu look at what we accomplished, we united our family's, found each other
I gave birth to two amazing cubs, We are so lucky" Kiara said.
Kovu pressed his muzzle to Kiara's cheek.
"I'm glad I have you my darling" he said.
"I'm glad I have you too Kovu" Kiara said.
"I'm glad We. Are. One" Kovu said.
"Kovu lets go home" Kiara said.
Kovu nodded and helped her up.
They entwined their tails and began the long walk back.
"Kovu, I think Nita has a greater interest in Rafiki's tree then Belee or Kia do" Kiara said.
"Well she isn't in line for the throne like they are, so she must feel like she needed to be a part of Rafiki's tree" Kovu said.
"Who knows maybe she'll be shaman when Rafiki steps down" she said.
"I love you Kiara" Kovu said.
Kiara nudged his side affectionally.
"I love you too" she said.
When they reached Pride Rock, Belee ran outside to greet them.
"Hi Mommy, Hi Daddy" she said as she nuzzled them.
Kovu greeted her affectionally and Kiara licked her forehead before going over to Kion.
When she reached him she bent down and nuzzled him.
"Hey Baby, how was your day?" She asked.
"I played baobab ball with Kenai and Denahi" Kion said as he climbed onto Kiara's paws.
"That's good my love" Kiara said.
She affectionally rubbed her muzzle against Kion's.
"I love you" Kion said.
"I love you too" Kiara said.
Just then Simba and Nala approached their youngest children.
"It's time for bed my darlings" Nala said.
Kiara smiled at her parents.
"Okay" she said.
Simba leaned down and pressed his muzzle to Kiara's.
"I love you my darling" he said.
Kiara smiled up at her father.
"I love you Daddy" she said.
Nala bent down and nuzzled Kiara before picking Kion up.
She carried him over to their sleeping place and settled down.
Simba followed her after nuzzling Kiara.
Belee and Denahi wandered over to their parents and settled down next to them.
Kiara pressed her muzzle to Kovu's cheek, before curling up and going to sleep.
Kovu licked her forehead before joining her.
