It was a beautiful day in the Pridelands.
The Lion Guard was patrolling Urembo Meadows.
"How's Mari?" Fuli asked.
"She's fine. She wants you to come and see her" Kion answered.
"I'll come soon" Fuli said warmly.
Kion glanced at Ono.
Ono nodded and took to the sky.
He returned a moment later and settled down on Beshte's back.
"All clear" Ono said.
"Thanks Ono" Fuli purred.
"What's the matter, Kion?" Beshte asked.
"I need to talk to Grandpa" Kion answered.
Fuli and Beshte exchanged a glance.
"Go ahead." Fuli said gently.
Kion glanced up.
"Grandpa, I need to talk to you!" He called.
He shivered as Mufasa's spirit embraced him.
"Is something troubling you?" Mufasa asked.
Fuli moved forward, and settled beside him.
"Grandpa, I feel I'm using the Roar far too often" Kion said.
Mufasa's expression softened.
"Can you tell me why you use it?" He asked.
"I use it to protect those I care about" Kion said.
Fuli pressed her muzzle against his cheek.
"Is that important to you?" Mufasa prompted.
"I'm worried I'm becoming like Scar" he said.
"The Roar is a part of who you are, Kion. I trust you to make the right choices when using it" Mufasa said.
"Thank you, Grandpa" Kion said warmly.
"I love you Kion" Mufasa said.
"I love you too" Kion purred.
Meanwhile, Simba and Nala had met up at the Meadow.
They were settled underneath the baobab tree.
"How was the hunt?" Simba asked.
"It was fine. Kia caught a galago" Nala said.
He rubbed a paw against Nala's cheek.
"I love you" he said softly.
"I love you too" Nala said.
