It was a peaceful day in the Pridelands.
The Lion Guard was doing a patrol near Big Springs.
"Tell me about Mari" Fuli said.
Kion's expression softened.
"Mom's teaching her how to swim" he said.
"Is she any good?" Beshte asked.
"She's making good progress" he said.
He glanced at Ono.
Ono nodded and took to the sky.
He returned a moment later, and settled down on Beshte's back.
"Everything's all clear" he said.
"I have to go. Kiara wants me to spend time with her at The Meadow" he said.
He bade goodbye to his friends, and headed for the Meadow.
When he reached it, Kion found Kiara settled near the Ndona River.
He bounded up to her excitingly.
"Hi Kiara" he said warmly.
He stretched his neck to nuzzle Kiara's cheek.
"How was your patrol?" Kiara asked.
"It was fine" Kion said.
He settled down, and pressed against her.
"I love you" he said.
Kiara bent her head, and rasped her tongue over his ear.
"I love you too. I am very proud of you, darling" she said warmly.
"Thank you" Kion said.
Meanwhile, Simba and Nala had met up at the Meadow.
They were settled down underneath the baobab tree.
"I love you" Simba said.
"I love you too. How was the patrol?" Nala asked.
"It was fine." Simba answered.
