Canon Information
The Gorge is a dry, humid canyon found beyond the borders of the Pride Lands with cliffs off to the side. Less vegetation is known to be there due to its massive heat and dry, barren ground. Above one end of the gorge, a herd of wildebeests may graze.

The Lion King
Three hyenas cause a wildebesst stampede. The animals run into The Gorge, where a lion cub named Simba is currently awaiting a surprise. His father Mufasa arrives and saves him, but winds up being trampled.
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride
Nuka is killed by falling logs in The Gorge. Later, water gushes through the canyon, then drains out the other side.
