Transcript[]

It was a beautiful day in the Pride Lands. Kion, Beshte, Fuli, and Ono were relaxing in the Lair.

“Is Bunga doing okay?” Kion asked.

Beshte nodded.

“His leg was hurting earlier. Rafiki told him to rest. He'll join us soon.” Beshte said.

“I'm glad Rafiki, Makini, and the other mjuzis were able to help heal his leg after Okereke broke it.” Kion said.

“I am too. I still can't believe Okereke would do something like that.” Fuli said.

“I can't either. It wasn't good sportsmanship. I'm glad Makuu caught on to what was happening, and told Dad and Chifu.” Kion said.

“That was good of him to do.” Beshte said.

Suddenly, Kiara appeared at the entrance to the lair.

“Daddy wants to see you, Kion. There's a special visitor for you.” Kiara said.

“Who is it?” Kion asked.

“Come and see for yourself.” Kiara said warmly.

Kion stood up, and followed Kiara towards the peak.

When they arrived, they saw Simba and Mhina settled down outside the den.

Kion's expression immediately brightened as he caught sight of Mhina.

“Hi Mhina!” Kion said excitedly.

Mhina and Simba chuckled.

“Hi Kion.” Mhina said.

Kion and Kiara moved forward, and settled down beside Simba.

“How long are you visiting for?” Kion asked.

Behind Mhina, Simba cleared his throat.

“Ajani wants him home by sundown.” Simba said.

“Okay. Let's go back to the Lair. Fuli, Beshte, and Ono are there.” Kion said.

“Great.” Mhina said.

Kion led Mhina towards the lair.

When they arrived, Beshte, Ono, and Fuli glanced up.

“Hi Mhina.” Beshte said warmly.

“Nice to see you.” Ono said.

“What are you doing here?” Fuli asked.

“Dad said I could visit for the day. I'm expected home at sundown.” Mhina said.

Suddenly, Bunga appeared in the entrance to the lair.

“Okay, I'm here now. We can patrol.” Bunga said.

“How's your leg feeling, Little B?” Beshte asked.

“It still hurts. Rafiki said I need to be careful on it. I have to wear this leaf and cobweb wrap on it today.” Bunga said.

Mhina cleared his throat pointedly.

“Hi Bunga.” Mhina said.

“Hey Mhina.” Bunga said casually.

Suddenly, his eyes widened.

“What are you doing here, Mhina?” Bunga asked.

“I'm visiting for the day. Dad's expecting me back at sundown.” Mhina said.

“That's UnBungalievable!” Bunga said.

Kion cleared his throat.

“Is there any news we need to know?” Kion asked.

“Oh, that's right. I ran into Bupu and Boboka on my way over here. They told me that Busara hasn't returned to their grazing grounds after going to play this morning.” Bunga said.

Kion and Fuli exchanged a glance.

“He's probably lost somewhere. We'd better go find him.” Kion said.

“Yeah. There's no telling what could happen to him.” Fuli said.

“I'd like to help too, Kion.” Mhina said.

“Of course you can help, Mhina.” Kion said.

He glanced at Beshte, Ono, Fuli, and Bunga.

“Come on, Lion Guard. Let's go.” Kion said.

He led the way out of the lair.

“Where do you think Busara could be?” Fuli asked.

“I don't know. There's lots of places in the Pride Lands a baby animal could get lost in.” Kion said.

“So, we'll have to look everywhere?” Bunga asked.

“Probably. You can ride on my back if your leg starts hurting, Little B.” Beshte said.

“Thanks, Big B.” Bunga said.

Suddenly, Jasiri came up to them.

“Hi. What's going on?” Jasiri asked.

“We're going to look for Busara. He's lost somewhere.” Kion said.

“Can I help you look for him?” Jasiri asked.

“Of course.” Kion said.

Behind him, Mhina cleared his throat.

“Hi Jasiri.” Mhina said.

“Hi Mhina.” Jasiri said.

Kion glanced up as Anga flew up to them.

“What are you doing here, Anga?” Kion asked.

“I was visiting Nita and Makini. Thought I'd come say hi.” Anga said.

“We're going to look for a lost baby antelope. Do you want to help?” Ono asked.

“Sure.” Anga said.

“Can one of you use your sight to locate him? That'd make the search a little easier.” Kion said.

“Affirmative.” Ono said, as he spread his wings, and took off.

As Ono searched the Pride Lands, Anga spread her wings, and joined him in the sky.

“I'll help you look for him, Ono.” Anga said.

“Thanks, Anga.” Ono said.

As they looked, they didn't notice that Duma was watching them from the branch of a nearby tree.

“Hmm. Something is up.” Duma said quietly.

He watched as Ono and Anga rejoined Kion, Mhina, Jasiri, Beshte, Fuli, and Bunga on the ground.

“Any sign of him?” Kion asked.

“Anga spotted him in Embamba Canyon.” Ono said.

“Those canyons are dangerous for young animals.” Fuli said.

“Come on, let's go.” Kion said.

He, the Lion Guard, Anga, Mhina, and Jasiri began to head towards Embamba Canyon.

Duma leapt down from the tree branch, and stretched.

“So, there's a little baby antelope lost in Embamba Canyon. Very interesting.” Duma said.

He glanced up as Bwana and Jozi appeared.

“Here's the plan, fellas. We go to Embamba Canyon, and find that little antelope before the Lion Guard does.”  Duma said.

He began to lead the way to Embamba Canyon.

Meanwhile, in the Outlands, Shupavu and Nyata had met up with Shenzi, Azizi, and Banzai, near the Outlands Volcano.

“What news do you bring, skinks?” Shenzi asked.

“The Lion Guard is off to rescue a little antelope that got lost in Embamba Canyon.” Nyata said.

“Haha! That little antelope will never escape those canyons. We can get him easily.” Banzai said.

“So, there's a lost antelope in Embamba Canyon. That's very interesting. We're going to go to Embamba Canyon and get that baby antelope before the Lion Guard does.” Shenzi said.

Suddenly, Mzingo flew up to them, and landed beside Shenzi.

“What is it, Mzingo?” Shenzi asked.

“I've just seen Duma's Coalition enter the Pride Lands. They're headed for a young antelope in Embamba Canyon.” Mzingo said.

“We know. The Lion Guard is as well, and we're going to get that little baby first. Okay. So, we'll go to Embamba Canyon and catch that baby antelope.” Shenzi said.

She glanced at Mzingo.

“We'll take it from here. Thank you, Mzingo.” Shenzi said.

“Of course, Shenzi.” Mzingo said, as he spread his wings, and flew off. Shupavu and Nyata slipped away towards the volcano.

Shenzi glanced at Azizi, and Banzai.

“Come on, follow me.” Shenzi said.

She led the way to Embamba Canyon.

When they arrived, Shenzi unsheathed her claws.

“All right. Now we search for that antelope.” Shenzi said.

She led the hyenas into the canyons.

They didn't notice Duma and his coalition were hiding behind a bush near the canyons.

“Looks like there's a slight complication, that we'll have to work around.” Duma said.

“Will we still save that antelope before the Guard does?” Bwana asked.

“We won't leave the Pride Lands until we do.” Duma said.

He led the coalition into the canyons.

Meanwhile, the Lion Guard, Anga, Jasiri, and Mhina had arrived at Embamba Canyon.

Kion glanced at Ono and Anga, who were perched on Beshte's back.

“Okay, can you two use your sight to find Busara?” Kion asked.

“Yep.” Anga said.

“You got it, Kion.” Ono said.

They spread their wings, and took off.

“I hope Busara's okay, wherever he is.” Beshte said.

“Me too, Beshte.” Fuli said.

Ono and Anga returned, landing beside Kion.

“Good news and bad news, Kion.” Ono said.

“What's the good news?” Kion asked.

“We found Busara.” Anga said.

“That's great.” Beshte said.

“What's the bad news?” Fuli asked warily.

“Janja's hyenas, and Duma's coalition have too. They're in the canyons, getting closer to him.” Ono said.

“That's not so great.” Bunga said.

“What'll we do, Kion?” Fuli asked.

“Okay, here's the plan. Jasiri, Beshte, and Bunga will deal with Janja's Clan, Ono and Anga will find Busara, and me, Fuli, and Mhina will deal with Duma.” Kion said.

“Affirmative.” Ono said.

“You got it, Kion.” Jasiri said.

“Huwezi! Let's go!” Fuli said.

“We're all beside you, Kion.” Mhina said.

Kion shifted his paws awkwardly.

“Thanks, Mhina.” Kion said.

Ono cleared his throat.

“Busara's in the middle of the canyons. Shenzi and the hyenas are closing in on one side, and Duma's Coalition are closing in on the other side.” Ono said.

“Okay, let's split up. Til the Pride Lands end!” Kion said.

“Lion Guard defend!” Fuli, Ono, Bunga, and Beshte called.

Kion glanced at Fuli and Mhina.

“We'll track Duma by scent, that way we'll find him easier.” Kion said.

“Already on it.” Fuli said.

“Me too.” Mhina said.

Fuli's eyes widened, as she caught a scent.

“I can smell cheetah scent this way.” Fuli said, gesturing with her tail towards a path that led to the western part of Embamba Canyon.

“Looks like we're heading that way.” Kion said, as he led Mhina and Fuli down the path.

Jasiri glanced at Beshte and Bunga.

“I'll track Janja's hyenas by scent, so we can find them.” Jasiri said.

“Good plan, Jasiri.” Beshte said.

Jasiri's eyes widened, as she caught a scent.

“There's hyena scent this way.” Jasiri said, gesturing towards a path that led to the eastern part of Embamba Canyon.

“Let's go already! I wanna kick some hyena tail.” Bunga said.

“You won't be kicking anything until your leg heals, Bunga.” Jasiri said firmly.

“I'm fine. I'll just walk it off.” Bunga said.

He moved forward, groaning in pain.

“You're not walking either. Get on Beshte's back.” Jasiri said.

“Fine. I'll stay off my leg.” Bunga said, as Jasiri helped him climb onto Beshte's back.

Ono and Anga watched as they headed down the path.

“Our task is easy, Anga.” Ono said.

“Yep. It sure is.” Anga said, as she strained her vision.

“Busara isn't far. Just down the middle path. It looks like his hoof is caught underneath a rock.” Anga said.

“We'd better go find him.” Ono said.

He and Anga began to fly down the path.

Meanwhile, Kion, Fuli, and Mhina had discovered Duma and his coalition at the end of the path they had taken.

“What are you doing, Duma?” Mhina asked.

“‘My coalition and I are proving ourself to be better than the Lion Guard, by finding that lost baby antelope.” Duma said.

“You realize that plan is foiled. My Lion Guard is rescuing Busara now.” Kion said.

“Who's Busara?” Bwana asked.

“The baby antelope.” Fuli said, rolling her eyes.

Duma scoffed.

“Well, looks like we want the same thing, to help a poor defenseless baby.” Duma said.

“You won't help him. You just want to claim the glory of saving a Pride Lander, a subject of my parents.” Kion said.

“That's true.” Duma said.

“You're not getting near Busara.” Kion said firmly.

“You realize we outnumber you.” Duma said.

“You realize Kion has the Roar.” Fuli retorted.

“We aren't scared of the roar of a lion cub.” Bwana said.

“You really should be scared of this one:” Mhina said.

Duma crouched down, and unsheathed his claws.

“Bring it on.” Duma said.

Meanwhile, Jasiri, Beshte, and Bunga had located Janja's Clan at the end of the path they had taken.

“What do we have here?” Shenzi asked.

“Looks like they came to find the baby antelope too.” Banzai said.

“Are they gonna eat it?” Azizi asked.

Shenzi groaned.

“Of course not. They're on the good side. Jasiri's a complete disgrace to our species.” Shenzi said.

“Don't listen to her, Jasiri.” Beshte said quietly.

He knelt down, so Jasiri could carefully pull Bunga off of his back. Jasiri carried Bunga to a small pile of rocks, and set him down beside them.

“Stay here. Beshte and I will handle this.” Jasiri said.

“Okay.” Bunga said.

Jasiri moved to stand beside Beshte, knelt down, and unsheathed her claws.

“If you want a fight. Bring it on.” Jasiri said.

Beshte charged forward, sending Banzai and Azizi flying.

“Hyenas! Retreat!” Shenzi called.

She, Azizi, and Banzai rushed out of the canyon.

“Well, that was easy.” Bunga said.

“Yeah, it was.” Jasiri said, as she moved to help Bunga climb back onto Beshte's back.

Meanwhile, Ono and Anga had located Busara in the middle of the canyon.

“You're right, Anga. His hoof is caught underneath a rock.” Ono said.

“I can get him free.” Anga said, as she and Ono approached Busara.

“Hi Busara. Are you okay?” Ono asked gently.

Busara shook his head.

“I'm hungry, and my hoof is trapped, I can't get it free.” Busara said.

“I think I can help you there.” Anga said.

She grasped the stone with her talons, and pulled it off of Busara's hoof.

“There you go. Now, let's get you back to your parents. Follow us.” Ono said.

He and Anga began to lead Busara out of the canyon.

Meanwhile, Kion, Mhina, and Fuli were fighting Duma and his coalition. Kion had pinned Duma down.

“Give up, and go home.” Kion said.

“Very well.” Duma said.

Kion stepped off of him, and Duma got to his paws.

He glanced at his coalition.

“Back to Leopon Plains, everyone.” Duma said.

He and his coalition rushed out of the canyon.

“Come on, let's find the others. Ono and Anga have probably found Busara by now.” Kion said.

He, Mhina, and Fuli headed out of the canyon.

They saw Anga, Ono, and Busara waiting by an acacia tree.

Kion rushed over to join them. Mhina and Fuli following.

“Are you okay, Busara?” Kion asked.

Busara nodded.

“Thanks for saving me, Lion Guard.” Busara said.

“You're welcome.” Kion said.

Fuli's expression softened.

“We'll take you back to your parents.” Fuli said gently.

Suddenly, Jasiri rushed up to them, Beshte following behind her, carrying Bunga on his back.

“Did you drive Janja's hyenas off?” Kion asked.

“Yep. They're back in the Outlands. We can get this little one back to his parents now.” Jasiri said.

Kion glanced at Ono.

“Can you find out where Bupu and Boboka are?” Kion asked.

Ono nodded, spread his wings, and took to the sky.

“I can see them. They're at the water hole.” Ono said.

“Come on, Busara.” Kion said gently.

He began to lead the way to the water hole.

When they arrived, Bupu and Boboka rushed towards them.

“Thank goodness, thank you for returning our baby to us.” Boboka said, as she and Busara nuzzled.

“You're welcome.” Kion said.

“We're very grateful.” Bupu said.

“Always happy to help.” Beshte said.

Boboka bent down to nuzzle Busara again.

“Come on, honey. You must be hungry.” Boboka said.

She and Bupu began to lead Busara towards their grazing grounds.

Anga cleared her throat.

“I'd better head home too. See you later, everyone.” Anga said, as she spread her wings.

“See you soon, Anga.” Ono said, as he watched Anga fly off.

Jasiri and Kion exchanged a glance.

“I'd better be heading home too. Mom will need help with Tunu and Wema.” Jasiri said.

“See you later, Jasiri.” Kion said.

He watched as Jasiri headed towards Chakula Plains.

“Come on, Little B. I'll take you home.” Beshte said.

“Thanks, Big B.” Bunga said.

Kion watched as Beshte began to head to Hakuna Matata Falls.

“I need to go too.” Fuli said.

Kion nodded.

He watched as Fuli dashed off.

“I'd better go too. Ono said.

He glanced at Mhina.

“It was nice to spend time with you today.” Ono said.

“You too, Ono.” Mhina said.

He watched as Ono flew off.

Kion glanced at the horizon, and shifted his paws awkwardly.

“We've still got time until sunset. Do you want to come back to Pride Rock and spend time together?” Kion asked nervously.

Mhina's expression brightened.

“Of course. I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be right now.” Mhina said.

“Race you there?” Kion asked.

“You're on.” Mhina said.

They began to run towards Pride Rock.

Trivia[]

  • This episode is based of the comic from The Lion Guard magazine Team Play.
  • There are several differences between the episode and comic.
    • In the comic, the Guard learns of the antelope's disappearance on patrol, while in the episode, they learn it in the Lair.
    • In the comic, there is just one cheetah, while in the episode, there is an entire coalition.
    • The comic has two possible endings, while in the episode, there is one.
    • Unlike the comic, Anga and Jasiri help the Guard.
    • The comic's ending shows Kion explaining the importance of teamwork and Fuli and the cheetah racing, but in the episode, Mhina and Kion instead race each other to Pride Rock.
