He's a born Outlander and was abandoned from a young age by his father for refusing the morally corrupt training he tried to subject him to.
As Cayn's heritage doesn't allow him to return to the Pride Lands, he usually roams around the near edge to look at trees and interact with animals kinder than the ones living in exile with him.
Cayn was born as one of the many children Angus had already conceived, though none of them were around and he did not know of their existence.
Cayn's father is the reason for the exile of himself and his then partner, and didn't care to make amends for the sake of his son that would soon be born. Cayn's mother disappeared after his birth, only hinted at to have been killed by Angus, who continued to raise Cayn with bad and selfish intentions.

He acted like a caring and playful father the first few months of Cayn's life, but when he was deemed old enough, tried to snowball him into the practise of hunting; and purposely target weak animals. The requests bothered Cayn, and when he was asked to attack a pregnant mouse, rebelled over the evil and pointlessness of it all.
Angus' patience ran dry and he abandoned the cub without saying a word.
He was never seen again and Cayn had to fend for himself from that moment on. The barren land offered few animals and fewer friendly faces willing to adopt him, though it also allowed for Cayn go through life avoiding potential danger.
Personality
Cayn is mentally strong, but as he lives alone and has nothing in life he wants to protect, it's difficult to persuade him into doing anything out of the ordinary. He lives day by day and has no plans for the future.
He's kind, cheerful, and social despite everything, but as is common for his species, he prefers to be alone. He has a fascination for trees, since his homeland lacks them.
Appearance
As a "primitive panther", Cayn has black manes going from his head, over his back, covering his tail. He has brown eyes, grey fur, a large chest, and long pointy ears.
Since his father is a half-blood, though, there are some minor details that separate him from full-blood panthers, like his lighter coat.
At the same time, the story of a child being abused by a parent is a backstory Cayn shared with multiple characters from The Friends, as to relate to them.
Cayn had a girlfriend that also came from this series, but she never received a Lion King redesign and was eventually written out.
A large comic telling Cayn's past was drawn in 2005, but then mistakenly cut off, whereafter the Photoshop project was saved. The comic was thrown away and the idea never picked up again.
