Though smaller than the other lions in the pride, Elewa possesses a round belly. His fur is deep fawn, with thick pale tan fur on his underbelly, chest, and muzzle. His jet black mane forms a circle around his long face, and a cluster of strands atop his head lie smooth against his large forehead. He has a big, bright pink nose, and the tuft at the end of his tail is the same shade as his mane. His whiskers are as black as his mane, and some of the ones on his right side are missing. His eyes are scarlet red, and their is a small V-shaped tear in his left ear.
Elewa is a very ebullient lion, friends with all. His social nature and understanding tendencies have earned him the trust of most of the pride members. He is not the sharpest claw on the paw, but is given time he can learn and understand whatever he puts his mind to learning. He has a ravenous appetite, and will eat anything from three day old mongoose to fresh rhinoceros. His enjoyment of food has led him to request hunting lessons from the lionesses, so he can catch his own whenever he wants a snack. He can be somewhat lazy, but most of his pridemates forgive him for this as a result of his good heart. He is also oddly persuasive and can often convince an animal to share their food with him.
Born to a rogue lioness and her mate, Elewa was given to the pride at a young age. His parents hopes that he would have a better life in a pride than he would alone, and their wish came true. Elewa quickly fit into the pride and made plenty of friends.
When he was a teenager he and his friends investigated a fire. Before they could leave to report to the king, Elewa slipped and fell down a slope, halting right beside the flames. The right side of his face was signed, with minor burns in some places, but he quickly recovered.
